--GotSkill? Rebate Program provides direct relief to 150 Ontario businesses--
October 30, 2020 / Vaughan Ontario – Ontario company GotSkill? gave 150 restaurants, bars and entertainment establishments across the Province more than $400,000 to provide the hospitality sector with much needed cash flow and help offset costs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
GotSkill? introduced a rebate program in July that paid each business owner up to $5,000 to help boost the establishments’ revenue as they reopen after the COVID-19 shutdown - and this is in addition to the regular payment the establishment owners generated from GotSkill? games.
“Our rebate program provided our clients with much needed cash flow in the first few months of restarting their business,” says Tony Carvalho. “With the shutdowns this has proven to be a very difficult time for restaurants, bars and the hospitality sector. We hope that the little extra we've provided will ensure these local small businesses can keep their doors open.”
- Tony Carvalho
This is good news for the hospitality sector where 10 per cent of restaurants have already closed their doors and an estimated 40 per cent of restaurants will close by March 2021 according to Restaurants Canada.
GotSkill? games are unique skill-based games played on bar-top consoles and cabinets. The games can be found in food, liquor and entertainment establishments across Ontario, from Pickle Lake and Thunder Bay in the North, to Cornwall and Ottawa in the East, to Windsor in the West, and in cities across the Golden Horseshoe/GTA.
Business owners welcome the support from GotSkill?. Christopher Hudspeth, owner of Pegasus on Church in Toronto, says “These funds have helped our business keep its head above water and our staff employed. This company along with their recovery rebate program have been a life saver. Their generosity at this time has shown them as an extremely supportive partner at one of the most devastating times the hospitality industry has seen.”
- Christopher Hudspeth, owner of Pegasus
Bonnie Zufelt, owner of Partners Billiards & Bowling in North Bay, says, “My business has sustained immense losses during this pandemic and every penny is needed to stay afloat. The additional rebate money was more than appreciated as the revenue is needed now more than ever.”
- Bonnie Zufelt, owner of Partners Billiards & Bowling
In addition to the rebate program for current clients, the company also has a similar initiative for any new hospitality businesses that introduce the GotSkill? games by December 1, 2020.

Quotes from Ontario Business Owners
“Thank you GotSkill? for the rebate program! It helped us to pay for a lot of the new safety measure costs without having to pass the buck to our loyal customers! GotSkill? was the only company we deal with that offered any financial help. Thanks again for your generosity!!! - Jack Bus, owner of Queen’s Tavern in Niagara Falls
“I would like to thank you so much for the rebate received. My business has sustained immense losses during this pandemic and every penny is needed to stay afloat. Your rebate was more than appreciated and truly amazing considering the fact that not one other company I deal with has stepped up to help in any way at all. It is disappointing to say the least that Got Skill, whom I have only been dealing with for a couple of years now has been the sole supporter to give Partners financial support, without me even asking for help I may add. Please know that Got Skill has given Partners extra income during the past couple of years... The revenue is needed now more than ever. I would have to say that these machines have been a shining star for Partners Billiards & Bowling and very thankful that I was given the opportunity to put machines in my establishment.” - Bonnie Zufelt, owner of Partners Billiards & Bowling in North Bay
“Our bar has benefited from the generous support by GotSkill? and their recovery rebate program. These funds have helped our business keep its head above water and our staff employed. The GotSkill? games are something our customers love and the fact that their fun helped sustain us in a substantial way was such a Bonus! This company along with their recovery rebate program have been a life saver... Their generosity at this time has shown them as an extremely supportive partner at one of the most devastating times the hospitality industry has seen.” - Christopher Hudspeth, owner of Pegasus on Church in Toronto
“GotSkill? was a great help to my business and its reopening. I hope GotSkill? will always be around for us as we need to move forward together. It was the only help offer, besides landlord and government -- but you will always owe them back! Thank you Tony and GotSkill? for the rebate money.” - Angelo Cupelli, owner of Tony’s Billiards in Guelph
“The rebate funds you provided were great along with the mortgage deferral provided by our financial institution to re-supply our shop and to re-open and stay open even with the decrease in customers. Without it, I’m not sure we would have fared out as well. Thanks for the help.” - Roger Motard, owner of A & F Billiards in Cornwall
The rebate that GotSkill? provided was a definite help to alleviate the financial burden with all our bills that we are facing during this time. It would have been nice to say that we received the same rebates from others, but unfortunately that has not happened. Appreciate everything that GotSkill? has done for us! - Tony Prekas, owner of Beer Drum in Oshawa
“The GotSkill? funds were received at a very appreciated time. You were the only one of our business partners who gave us any financial help of any kind. This is a very challenging time in the bar business especially now that we have to close at 11pm. Thank you again for your support!” - Don Perry, owner of Newfie's Pub in Thunder Bay
“Thank you for your support during these tough times. Your rebate that was given to us helped us immensely. It’s with business partners such as GotSkill supporting each other that we will get through this pandemic.” - Ron & Mia Edwards, owners of La Maison Tavern in Cornwall
