December 14, 2022 – Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Canada received $132,000 from GotSkill? in 2022 to go towards the national charity’s victims’ services and programs. This donation was raised throughout the year from the proceeds of the GotSkill? video skill games, which are located in over 200 establishments across Ontario.
MADD Canada’s Chief Operating Officer sent a message of appreciation to the games company for its on-going financial support as well as its public awareness efforts about responsible drinking and driving practices.
“Your support enables us to deliver outstanding programs and services to victims, youth and the public at large which also includes key work on public policy, legislation and technology advances,” said COO Dawn Regan. She added, “We could not do this valuable work without you. Together, we are making a difference in the fight against impaired driving and in our support of victims and survivors of this violent crime.”
In response, Gotskill? President & CEO Tony Carvalho commented, “We are pleased to be providing this support on an annual basis for such a significant and important cause. Not only does our company donate, but there are thousands of patrons who are playing our games and generously donating their winnings to this worthy cause.”
Carvalho added, “Over and above the financial contributions, I believe it is equally important that we continue to assist delivering MADD Canada’s important message through our games, located in restaurants and pubs, and entertainment establishments.”
GotSkill? donates a minimum of $100,000 annually towards MADD Canada’s victims’ services and programs. GotSkill? players are also presented with the option to donate to MADD Canada - and many do pay forward their winnings.
GotSkill? also promotes responsible drinking by displaying a MADD Canada message on their video screens. It is estimated that, annually, the MADD Canada – GotSkill? message is seen nearly 1,000,000 times in Ontario restaurants, pubs and drinking establishments with this partnership.
GotSkill? is a recognized Official Sponsor of MADD Canada. Visit www.madd.ca to learn more about the programs and services as well as the charity’s official sponsors.
